Helen has loved sports all her life. As a child she was brought up to enjoy an active out door life style. Cycling, camping, running and walking were activities enjoyed by both her parents, so naturally they pushed Helen in that direction too.

She was never really into the typical team sports of netball and hockey which were offered at her school. Instead, inspired by her parents, she was Time Trialing on her racing bike by the age of 15. She have always been well aware that her biggest opponent would never be that player on the other side of the net, or the team on the other side of the field, but would be herself, and that has always given her a massively high level of determination.

She is a member of the Marbella Triathlon club, and the Fuengirola Muebles Benitas Cycling Club, with whom she also trains and competes in smaller competitions.

Helen is lucky enough to have lived on the edge of the Sierra de Mijas for over 10 years now. For her this mountain range offers such a massive training opportunity for many disciplines of sports, and all in such a natural environment. The Sierra de Mijas is located 20km southwest of Malaga. It is the western end of a mountainous arc that runs parallel to the coast from Marbella. She often cycles the ring road of these mountains, that connects the towns of Mijas, Benalmadena, Torremolinos, Churriana, Alhaurin el Grande, and Alhaurin de las Torre on my road bike. And on her mountain bike like to find the many trails that meander through the interior.

In May she competed for the 4th time in the famous Ronda 101 km mountain bike competition, which runs through the beautiful Gasselana mountains of the national park, very similar an area to the Sierra de Mijas, where she did most of my training.
